Weston Avenue - Residential Development SOMERVILLE, MA



Design Consultants, Inc. (DCI) assisted Emerald Development with multidisciplinary services for the development of a 19 unit townhouse complex near Davis Square and Tufts University in Somerville.

DCI first provided a property line, topographic and utilities survey of the sloped one acre site. Afterward, DCI assisted Emerald’s in-house architects with a site design. This report included grading, drainage, utilities and site features. The site plan was later used for permitting and bidding purposes with DCI leading the permitting team through Site Plan Approval. Site drainage is one of the greatest engineering hurdles to undertaking development work in Somerville, DCI prepared drainage calculations and a drainage plan that met with local approval. To address traffic concerns of the project, DCI prepared a traffic impact report which characterized access/ egress from the site, travel demand created by the project and general impacts on Weston Avenue.
